Each page is rendered at your chosen resolution and rebuilt into a fresh PDF with optimised images. That removes duplicated data, unused objects and bloat that accretes over a document’s life — the main reasons PDFs grow so large.

Will my text stay sharp?

Yes. The Balanced preset is designed to be visually indistinguishable on screen, while Sharp keeps extra detail for print. Light is ideal for email attachments and web uploads where a smaller size matters most.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. Everything happens in your browser using WebAssembly and canvas. Your PDF is never sent anywhere, which also means it works offline once the page has loaded.
